My intention is not to provide supplementary online material in a coursebook, but to create a lesson based on online material and with the support of technology. The topic of this lesson is “The War in Iraq”, a topic that is missed from English Language Coursebooks.
The aim of this lesson is to sensitize the students in the issue of War, and more specifically the War in Iraq, which four years after its declaration, it still rages in this wretched country, with more than one million casualties in both sides. The role of the teacher is not to take sides or propagate his/her own view against one side, but to provide the students with different stimuli, in order to provoke their own opinion.
This lesson targets the group of students who are being prepared for the exams of Proficiency.
